February update

Greetings Citizens!

Once again we would like to share with you a little bit about what has been happening around The Universim since starting the new year. At the start of 2015, we’ve grown our team quite a bit and would like to introduce:

Developers: George, Daniel Artists: Saxon , Mel, Guille, Bradley, Sebastian

With all these new people, progress has really sped up. We have been focusing on our continual polishing of Prometheus as well as working on the logic behind how an epicenter visually grows. Our artists have also been hard at work updating our existing models and beginning to introduce both the UI and animations.

We’ve already shared some of these changes on social media and are planning to do so regularly, so be sure to follow us.

December update

Greetings citizens!

As promised, we would like to give you all an update on where we are with our current milestone. The last time we spoke to you, we gave a brief overview of our progress as we entered into Milestone 2. You can read all about it here.

As always, you can reach out to us on our social media channels. We’re always looking to chat!

Firstly, we would like to let everyone know that we have welcomed Maria onto our team as our Audio Engineer and she will be taking care of the music and sound for The Universim. She has already begun shaping up a proper title theme song and a few tracks for the beginning ages. We hope to give you a sneak peek at these in the future!

We are also currently looking for a new part-time developer to join our ranks:

This is a technical position and requires strong programming skills. When applying, please include your portfolio (or other talent showcase) and resume. You can learn more over at the Unity forums through this link. >>Here<<

Firstly, we would like to thank all of you for your continued support and the fantastic posts on our forums and social media outlets. It’s just amazing to read everything you have to say. If you’re interested in reaching out to us, you can find us on:

Also be sure to head over to our forums!

For those waiting to receive their pledge rewards, they’re almost ready and coming hot off the presses. We’re finalizing the last of the rewards, the t-shirts, and will soon have them at the warehouse to be sent out. It took a bit of time as we had to make sure we were able to order the best quality gear for our backers. You won’t believe how tricky that can be, sheesh.

Lastly, we posted an update regarding issues with PayPal and the funding recently. We are continuing to work with PayPal regarding this issue and would like to request that any future pledges are made directly on our website!

Now, let’s talk about the game!

Introducing Prometheus

Introducing Prometheus

The biggest news is that we have begun work on an ambitious new in-game engine that we have titled ‘Prometheus’. And it will shake the very foundation of the core gameplay. Prometheus will simulate living planets in the game and will be responsible for both micro and macro world events. It will manage things like air density, vegetation and living creatures, natural resources, temperature, biome generation, and even dynamic events. Dynamic events consist of things like the changing of seasons and natural disasters. Season change will have a far more drastic effect than you may think. Winters in particular can be incredibly brutal. Some winters will last longer than others, and with them comes unimaginable cold. Food will become scarce, development will slow to a crawl, and sufficient shelter will be the only thing keeping your civilization alive. You had better prepare for whatever Prometheus has to offer.

Natural disasters include events such as tornadoes, earthquakes, viruses, meteors, and so much more. It is up to you to find solutions to these problems, or if the worst comes, begin anew with a better strategy.

All of these things, and more, will be handled by Prometheus in the game. But remember, Prometheus isn’t your friend. It will constantly challenge and surprise you. The system also handles planet generation, and while every planet you encounter can be colonized, it can be particularly difficult to do so in some instances. You need to develop the right technology to survive in certain conditions. If you fail to come prepared, Prometheus will ensure that your crew never makes it back home again.

Introducing the Cowtivo Space Program! Why Cows? Because humans are expensive! Meet Captain Bull Anderson, the first of his kind!

Introducing the Cowtivo Space Program! Why Cows? Because humans are expensive! Meet Captain Bull Anderson, the first of his kind!

Greetings everyone, we have a big surprise for you today. We present to you the astronauts of the future! Tough, sturdy, and dim-witted enough to take on some of the most dangerous galactic flights ever attempted. No we aren’t talking about humans here folks, even though a lot of individuals fit the bill. We’re talking about cows! Why? Because humans are expensive! We here at Crytivo Industries are proud to reveal the Cowtivo Space Program. A new initiative that will ensure humanity’s expansion into the stars, without being sued for mistreatment of employees for once! Oh and before you start getting emotional about the cows, do not fear good citizens, they are actually genetically engineered for the job! Big thanks to our research department for that! Isn’t science great? We will have more info for you in the coming weeks, so stay tuned. In the meantime, we have some surprising in the flight cabin to do!

Cargo Lunar 12000 – Intergalactic Cargo Shuttle

Crytivo Industries is proud to unveil the latest addition to the Industry-leading line of Intergalactic Cargo Shuttles, the Cargo Lunar 12000. The Lunar 12000 makes use of the latest iteration of the ground-breaking Nuclear Fusion Propulsion technology common amongst Crytivo space shuttles. It was redesigned specifically for use in long-distance, intergalactic heavy cargo shipments. To increase stability, the maximum speed has been reduced due to the new conditions being factored into the design. The average Cruise Speed is currently set at 5000 Light Years a week with the possibility of improvements in coming months. While the new cargo vessels may be slower than previously announced shuttles, they more than make up for it with added security and cargo space.

A new metallic alloy discovered during a recent expedition has allowed us to develop external shielding unlike any we have encountered before. Future mining of this new resource will allow us to expand our research even further in the next year. Advanced shielding allows the Lunar 12000 to travel through the harshest of conditions and protect precious cargo from any unforeseen dangers and contaminants such as foreign radiation damage.

Cargo space allows for up to 12 shipment containers to be loaded aboard a single vessel with expansion opportunities. Interplanetary transportation has never been so easy! Deliver resources and other private cargo from planet A to planet B in a secured environment without any unnecessary complications*.

*Crytivo Industries is not responsible for mass planetary destruction as a result of the misuse of the product or general negligence. Legal Immunity agreements are filed under Customer Acceptance Form 103, Section 5, page 7.
